An evolution of version "1", IGNITOR 2 recognizes the starting phase and sends more voltage to the spark plugs. This new kit contains a microprocessor that manages the Dwell angle and sends more power from the coil between 2000 and 5000 rpm. To be used with a Flame-Thrower 2 coil at 45,000V (0.6 ohms) or 60,000V (0.45 ohms).This igniter is a PERTRONIX USA product.
Suitable for replacing BOSCH igniters (VW, Porsche)- Type 1 engines: 1200 to 1600cc + (except foot-molded)- Type 3 engines: 1500, 1600cc- Type 4 engines: 1700, 1800, 2000cc with carburettor not equipped with electronic module because it does not work with an original electronic system.

Evolution of IGNITOR 1, IGNITOR 2 recognizes the starting phase and sends more voltage to the spark plugs, it embeds a microprocessor which manages the Dwell angle and passes more power from the coil between 2000 and 5000 t / min.

It can be used with a Flame-Thrower 2 coil at 45.000V (0.6 ohms) or 60.000V (0.45 ohms).

This ignition is specially designed for MGAs & MGB.
All advance curves are specially programmed in the ignition.
Using a small rotating button, you can select the right curve for your car.

There is even a specific curve for stage 2 optimised engines!

Version with vacuum, negative to earth

This ignition contains the same 16 ignition curves as UC27040.

However, 2 curves are specific to front wheel-drive engines, the "Perf" and the "11D".
There are also 2 specific curves for the Type H "H78" engine.
The second curve iscalled the "rev-limiter" which protects the engine from overspeeds.

The installation manual, in French, supplied with the igniter, also shows the correspondence between the original Bosch igniter references and the curve to be selected on your 123 IGNITION igniter.

For the ignition coil: the resistance of your original coil must be greater than 1.0 ohm. You can also turn to a high efficiency spool also exceeding this value.

For Porsche 914-4, this igniter is only suitable for versions converted to carburetors
for versions equipped with D-Jetronic injection choose UC27760 allowing connection to the ignition module.
